Timothy is 6!!

Our cute little boy turned 6 on Jan 6. This time, he chose how and where and with whom he would like to celebrate his special day with... (no longer need Mummy to ask...)

We spent the sunday afternoon at the Fidget (at Turf City). It is an indoor playground. He invited his cousins along...

Trip to HK and Macau (Dec 2008)

As this was the first time mummy and kids were going to HK, we were very excited.....its HK! The country with lots of food, entertainment and shopping!! (or so they say)....
Below sums up how we felt after the trip:
To Daddy, its work during the trip... so, its not as relaxing and fun.
To Mummy, its tiring, having to move around with 2 active boys. And the biggest disappointment? egg tarts are not in abundance! in fact, we ate egg tart only ONCE in Macau!
To Grandpa and Grandma, nothing new for them, but, hopefully it is good enough for them to be able to see Uncle Cher Wee and Aunt Ruby.
To boys, its superb at HK Disneyland and Macau!
====================================================================
Our first stop was a 2-nights stay at the Disney Hollywood Hotel. This hotel has everything catered for the little ones... toiletries, TV programmes, plastic cups and cute bedroom slippers. But food here was really disappointing. We had a "simple" lunch and for dinner, we were thankful for Uncle Cher Wee and Aunt Ruby. They brought us to this nice restaurant not too far away and we ate this delicious lamb stew.. Yummy.. Jeremy and Timothy.. glued to the TV.. early in the morning...

Disneyland was fun.. It was not too crowded and we did not have to queue a long time for the rides. The night performance was nice too, especially with the snowfall.. Picture below was taken while waiting for the fireworks display...

There was a particular ride that we all loved... Astro-Blasters.. The boys took this ride at least 10 times!!
Jeremy had a score of 999,999.. this is the maximum score that it could display!!!
The interesting thing about this ride is that it attracts not only the young!! Do not know what i mean?? Look below...
Even Grandpa and Grandma enjoyed it!

Our next stop was another 2-nights stay. This time, at the Venetian Macao Resort Hotel. This hotel is simply HUGE, and very nice... we all loved it! Below are some pictures of us "wowing" over the hotel room...

Beautiful pool but it was too cold to swim in there!

Macau is a gambler's dreamland.. ever wonder what the kids can enjoy?? well.. its the CUBE.. This place is managed by the Venetian Hotel. It's like a small arcade cum amusement park.. Besides a couple of steep slides, they have x-box, Nintendo Wii, soccer table and computers to surf the net!... Kid's dreamland!! Jeremy and Timothy practically spent the entire 2 days there, breaking from that place just for meals. The only thing is they do not allow us to leave the kids there on their own. So, daddy and mummy needed to take turns to be there to watch over them. Below are two video clips of the boys on the slides.

Our last stop... back to HK. We stayed at Panaroma Hotel. This hotel was a vast difference from Venetian. We did not even have enough space to open up our luggages! There was no shopping or eating spree in HK.. We ate char siew noodles and fish ball noodles most of the time... sigh! But at least we get to enjoy the view at the Peak and also, managed to have a peek at the well-known Ocean Park.

Sunset at the Peak was beautiful. The unexpected reward there was the finding of our very own.. Andy Lau!!

Andy's brother? Cool right?

This was late afternoon at the Peak..
Beautiful sunset with beautiful smiles!

Great Neon lights... and freezing cold too....

Ocean Park was our last stop.. the place was quite boring. Very crowded and with long queues for almost all the rides.. Very steep slopes everywhere too.

2008 RECAP

Time flies, it has been more than 6 months since the last post. Isn't it sad when we cannot even find time to update this blog? Well, blame it on facebook! But, on the other hand, guess it's never too late :)

Let me begin with updates for Timothy...
He has finished his K1 school year in style... Below is a picture of his mates in school...
I mentioned "in style" because he had the honour to be his teacher's pageboy in July 08. We thought he might back out in the last minute, but he did not and was a "cool" boy that evening..

Another unforgettable incident for Timothy (or rather, for mummy) was the night we rushed him to the hospital to get his head stitched up! He was in his usual playful self and was trying to see how well he can balance himself after turning himself around a few times. The unfortunate thing happened when daddy decided to join in the fun. Timothy lost his balance and knocked his head against the coffee table. Mummy went over to check and started screaming when she saw blood oozing from his head. Whatever happened next was a blur... but after his wound was stitched up, he was back to his normal self... jumping from one sofa to another at the hospital! That's why it was "unforgettable"..... for Mummy!

Mummy looks "sadistic"in this photo, smiling for the camera...

But when the doctor was trying to stitch him, he needed 2 nurses to hold him still (in addition to Daddy and Mummy!!)

What an experience!

Finally, Timothy has obtained a distinction in the LAMDA Introductory examinations. The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art... Now, we know what is his alternative to academic school...
You can try to figure out on your own the examiner's note. All we can say is...
...well done Timmy, keep it up!

Now, updates for Jeremy.....

Jeremy had a smooth start to his academic year. He has made many new friends and his best friend is Jae Min. Below are two photos of his classmates (Jeremy is the first boy from left standing on the second row. Jae Min is the last boy on the same row) and his teacher (Mdm Idayu).

Jeremy has done well academically too. He was 3rd in class and is top in Mathematics in the standard for 2008!!

Another memorable event for Jeremy was his first experience at a Formula One race in Sep 08. He is a supporter of Kimi and the Ferrari team. Unfortunately, he could only attend the qualifying rounds. Check out his cool ice-man look in the pictures below.

Well, that was a cool 2008 for them....

Parent-meet-Teachers II

It's time to meet Timmy's teachers again. Again the teachers' comments took us by surprise. Attentive, perfectionist in his work (keep erasing until the writing is perfect) and a quick learner are not how we usually associate him with. Seems the little rascal is quite different in school and at home... More than anything else, it came as a relief for us to hear those comments.

Anyway here are some snippets of his K1 portfolio for the memories...

His form teacher has asked him to be her pageboy during her wedding in July. We're a bit worried... for her. He can be unpredictable and may just freak out on the day. Anyway we'll just keep our fingers crossed... she's been warned!

Father's Day

Daddy was away on Father's Day weekend, but when I returned a few days later the 2 boys surprised me with the cards they made for me during their art class.

I'm proud to say that Daddy has henceforth been elevated to superhero status, on equal standing to their Spiderman and Ben 10 and Ryukendo!

A closer look at the tag on Jeremy's card says it all...

Happy Birthday Timothy!!

Timmy turned 5 on Jan 6. We had a small birthday party for him at home. Nothing fanciful, as always (poor boy... we really didn't put much effort into his birthday celebrations!) We had pizza and KFC and invited his cousins over. Guess the only special thing this year is that he got to choose his own cake.

Yes... Its a BATMAN cake.. he has requested for this cake since August 2007! (this guy has fantastic memory.. and he is extremely long-winded.. so, remember not to give him empty promises!!)

The "unhappy" supporters.. Shukri, Sadiq and Jeremy ..(they were forced to take this photo..) Ryan was playing the piano while Ian and Joel were cheering him on.. (No picture of that though)

Timmy's character is quite the opposite of his brother. Jeremy is more reserved in many ways. Timothy, on the other hand, is the more outspoken and mischievious one.. The following 2 pictures clearly captured that side of him...

The Four Musketeers

In 2004, when Jeremy started his pre-school at Eternal Life Assembly Child Care Centre, he had 2 of his cousins in the same school. Having them in the same school really helped him settle down quickly (he cried for only about a week). Below is a picture of his first day at the child care... with Ryan and Joel.

Now, when he starts his formal school at Bukit Timah Primary School, he has 3 cousins with him. This time, he is even luckier to have one of them in the same level!

We have (from left).. Joel, Jeremy, Sadiq, Shukri...

Every Thursday, the four of them attend Science Buddies together in the morning and will leave for school from Ah Ma's place. Below is a picture of them getting ready for school...
