Happy Birthday Timothy!!

Timmy turned 5 on Jan 6. We had a small birthday party for him at home. Nothing fanciful, as always (poor boy... we really didn't put much effort into his birthday celebrations!) We had pizza and KFC and invited his cousins over. Guess the only special thing this year is that he got to choose his own cake.

Yes... Its a BATMAN cake.. he has requested for this cake since August 2007! (this guy has fantastic memory.. and he is extremely long-winded.. so, remember not to give him empty promises!!)

The "unhappy" supporters.. Shukri, Sadiq and Jeremy ..(they were forced to take this photo..) Ryan was playing the piano while Ian and Joel were cheering him on.. (No picture of that though)

Timmy's character is quite the opposite of his brother. Jeremy is more reserved in many ways. Timothy, on the other hand, is the more outspoken and mischievious one.. The following 2 pictures clearly captured that side of him...

The Four Musketeers

In 2004, when Jeremy started his pre-school at Eternal Life Assembly Child Care Centre, he had 2 of his cousins in the same school. Having them in the same school really helped him settle down quickly (he cried for only about a week). Below is a picture of his first day at the child care... with Ryan and Joel.

Now, when he starts his formal school at Bukit Timah Primary School, he has 3 cousins with him. This time, he is even luckier to have one of them in the same level!

We have (from left).. Joel, Jeremy, Sadiq, Shukri...

Every Thursday, the four of them attend Science Buddies together in the morning and will leave for school from Ah Ma's place. Below is a picture of them getting ready for school...

The Big "ONE"... Bukit Timah Primary School

Yes.. this is year 2008 and our dear Jeremy is in Primary ONE....

This is indeed a significant milestone for Jeremy.. going into a new environment... new friends... new teachers... new routines... (hmm.. guess mummy is more anxious than Jeremy himself!)

In any case, Jeremy did extremely well for the first day, even though that day started with some hiccups.. (no time for lunch, almost missed the bus - just to name a few.)

Like most parents, we were also armed with a camera. Felt like i was waiting for some idols to appear, because parents had to be behind some barriers and we can only watch from there to catch a glimpse of our little ones... so, here are some of the moments that we captured...

Getting ready for school on the first day...

Look of boredom already?? Nope.. its the usual "cooool" look

Getting off the bus...

Waiting patiently for his name tag..

Waiting patiently (again!!) during assembly.. this time, one girl in his class could not be located..

His buddy... Han Xiang

Picture abit too small... but it was him buying his drink... H2O

Successful attempt in getting the drink.. with help from his buddy!

The Tooth-Fairy

Jeremy has finally dropped his first tooth... this happened sometime back in December while we were having our dinner at Genki Sushi in Forum... since then, another one has also fallen off (2 lower front teeth)... Though there was no present from the tooth-fairy, we are proud that Jeremy has such clean teeth... Below is a picture of him with his new teeth visible...

Best friends

They play together in school, they eat together, shared their sweets with each other, and even fought together! Yes, when Jeremy had an altercation with one of his classmates, his best friend stepped in to the rescue - with the result that all 3 were punished. By hey, that's what friends are for!

This is Caleb, Jeremy's best friend in school. Looking at the pictures, I must admit they make an odd pair. Jeremy is skinny, Caleb looks big and strong - he attends a boxing gym class too!

I think it's great that Jeremy has a best friend. Couple of weeks ago when Caleb went early to school, like 7+ or something, Jeremy said he wanted to get up at 5 the next day so that he can go early too and play with Caleb. Obviously it didn't happen...

We all know that Jeremy hates having his photo taken - his school graduation shots were minor disasters. But just look at these... it was moons ago that he had smiled so sweetly or contentedly before the camera. Alas they will be going their separate ways in their own "big boys' school" next year. But these moments in childhood are probably the ones most savoured and treasured as they grow up - those spent with your best friend.

Cars, Study Hard and Timmy

Recently, Timmy has been talking about buying cars.. and it is no ordinary cars.. its sports cars that he is refering to!!! We told him that he needs to study hard so that he can earn lots of money next time to buy such expensive cars..

One day, on our way home in the car, he suddenly asked me.. "Mummy, how do i study hard?". He was so serious!! Looks like he is quite worried that he cannot afford those cars..

Well, the funny thing is this... (nevermind what my reply to him was...)

We have been asking him if he would buy for us when he can afford to. To many of us (including his aunties and grandma), he had told us that he would buy us sports cars, except for DaYi.. He said that he would buy a BUS for DaYi. We thought that was because DaYi used to fetch one whole gang back from school together... But we were wrong! His reason is "because you are so FAT"... Ha2...

Kid's mind... dont underestimate them.....

Our very own "Ferrari" drivers

Recently, our boys have grown to like to watch Formula 1 racing. Probably with the influence of Daddy. So, we decided to make another attempt for them to wear the racing suit that Chuck bought many years back. To our pleasant surprise, they love to wear it.

Too bad Jeremy has out grown the suit. But he still looks cool ( as cool as ice-man Kimi)... On the other hand, Timmy fits nicely into it and he definitely looks like the short, oh, i mean smiley Massa !!
By the way, Timmy wore this to school one day as it was dress-up day for them (Theme was: what I want to be when I grow up). When he reached school that day, one of his teacher commented (in chinese) "Wow, Junming, you are a firefighter today! Nice".. i almost fainted and Timmy just bow his head... What a great start right?
